Yalda Afshar, MD, PhD is an OBGYN and specialist in maternal fetal medicine. Dr. Afshar is a physician-scientist with clinical and research interests that intersect and include high-risk pregnancy, pregnancy physiology, placentation, and and congenital heart disease, either affecting the pregnant person or fetus. Her research laboratory is focused on congenital heart disease and placentation. She is co-director of the UCLA cardio obstetrics program and manages the multi-disciplinary care of pregnancies with maternal and/or fetal cardiovascular disease
