Sorel Goland, MD is an Associated Professor of Medicine and Cardiology at Hebrew University and Hadassah Medical School Jerusalem, Israel.
After completing with honors the medical school at the Riga Medical School, University of Riga, Latvia, and received her medical degree. Dr. Goland completed her residency in internal medicine at Kaplan Medical Center as well as her clinical fellowship in Cardiology and worked as attending cardiologist at the Heart Institute in Kaplan Medical center, Israel, which were followed by a clinical and research fellowship in heart failure/heart transplantation and echocardiography at Cedars Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, California. During her fellowship in LA she spent a part of the time working with Dr. Goland on a number projects related to Heart disease in Pregnancy in UCS+LAC hospital in Los Angeles.
After the completion of her training, Dr. Goland returned to Israel and in 2011 assumed the position of Director of the Heart Failure Unit and Heart disease in Pregnancy Program. Dr. Goland became an associated professor of medicine and cardiology at the Hebrew University and Hadassah Medical School Jerusalem in 2014.
Dr. Goland research interests and clinical expertise include heart failure, valvular disease, echocardiography and heart disease in pregnancy. She is involved as principal investigator in many multicenter clinical trials and registries, has served as a member steering committee of some of them. Dr. Goland’s publications include over 80 important peer review original research articles and reviews. She has been a member of the scientific advisory board and committees of a number of national and international scientific meetings. Currently Dr.Goland continues her clinical work, teaching and is actively involved and heads in a number important research projects.
