Dr. Scott Nandita received her MD from the University of Ottawa in Canada.  She completed Internal Medicine and Cardiology Residencies at the Ottawa Hospitals and Heart Institute where she was also Chief Internal Medicine and Chief Cardiology Resident.   She then completed an echocardiography and clinical research fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital.  In 2007 she facilitated the development of the MGH Corrigan Women’s Heart Health Program which has become a robust clinical, educational and research program.  Education about heart disease in women is one of its mission goals and includes talks to the community, health care professionals and the implementation of Heart Disease and Women CME courses through Harvard Medical School, the Massachusetts Medical Society and Partners Health Care.

 

In 2012, Dr. Scott established the MGH Cardiovascular Disease and Pregnancy Program which has formalized and expanded the collaboration between Obstetrics and Cardiology to improve care for these at-risk women.  Due to her efforts in improving cardiology care for women she has received several awards including:  the American Heart Association Physician of the Year for Cape Cod and Islands, two Partners in Excellence awards and was placed on the honor role of the Massachusetts Medical Society, Committee on Women in Medicine.   In 2020, she was awarded the Massachusetts Medical Society Women’s Health Research Award.   She also now serves as the Director of the Cardiovascular Medicine Section at Massachusetts General Hospital.
