Dr. Doreen DeFaria Yeh received her undergraduate degree at Duke University and Doctor of Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. She completed Internal Medicine Residency at the Massachusetts General Hospital, and Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship at the University of California San Francisco where she completed advanced training echocardiography as well as Adult Congenital Heart Disease. She received the American Heart Association National Clinical Research Award to support the study of endothelial function in patients with aortic coarctation. In 2012 Dr. DeFaria was selected as one of the American College of Cardiology’s Emerging Faculty as well as the Eleanor and Miles Shore Fellowships for Scholars in Medicine at Harvard Medical School. She is a multiple recipient of the Brian A. McGovern Memorial Award from the MGH Department of Medicine for Excellence in Clinical Teaching in Cardiology.  She has Co-Chaired the Department’s Intern Selection Committee and later started as Director of the MGH Cardiovascular Disease Fellowship Program in 2017. As Director, she has pioneered a number of important initiatives within the fellowship to innovate in education, clinical operations as well as expand the diversity, equity and community mission in cardiovascular training. Nationally, she has Chaired the American Heart Association Laennec Young Clinician Award Committee. She is an Assistant Professor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School and is Associate Director of the MGH Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program and Co-Director of the MGH Pregnancy and Cardiovascular Disease Service. She has directed many CME events including  the MGH Adult Congenital Heart Disease Board Review Courses, and the annual MGH Cardiovascular Disease and Pregnancy Course. Her clinical focus is Adult Congenital Heart Disease and Congenital Heart Echocardiography as well as Cardiovascular Disease and Pregnancy.
