Dr. Danna Spears is a cardiologist and electrophysiologist in the Division of Cardiology, Department of Cardiac Electrophysiology, at the University Health Network.Dr. Spears obtained her medical degree at Queen’s University, and completed her training at the University of Toronto, including an adult cardiology residency and three years of interventional electrophysiology. She also completed subspecialty training in molecular cardiology at the Fondazione Salvatore Maugeri in Pavia, Italy. She returned to Toronto to work with the Division of Cardiology , and in September of 2013 established a comprehensive Heritable Arrhythmia Clinic with a clinical and research focus on conditions such as Long QT Syndrome, Short QT Syndrome, Brugada Syndrome, Arrhythmogenic Right Ventricular Cardiomyopathy, Catecholaminergic Polymorphic Ventricular Tachycardia, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy, and Idiopathic Ventricular Fibrillation. She also is a cardiologist in the University of Toronto Pregnancy and Heart disease program where she manages arrhythmia disorders in pregnancy with a commitment to ensure safe and effective medical and interventional management of these conditions.
