Dr Bashir Taha Salih MD Germany, FRCOG UK
Born in Sudan, Studied and trained in Germany obtained MD (Facharzt) Internal medicine.
He was appointed Consultant Physician in Khartoum/Sudan teaching hospitals. He moved to Abu Dhabi, joined the Medical department in Al Jazeera and Central hospitals Abu Dhabi.
March 1994, he was appointed Consultant & Chair of Obstetric medicine department in Corniche Hospital, where he established the first unit of Obstetric Medicine in the Middle East.
Trained in Obstetric medicine by Prof. Michael de Swiet and others in the UK.
He looks after patients with medical problems pre-dating, during or after pregnancy, hold combined clinics in Cardiology, Haematology, Neurology and Respiratory medicine with Obstetrians and specialized physicians from Sheikh Khalifa Medical City and Cleveland Clinic, Abu Dhabi.
He gained large experience in the management of medical complications in pregnancy in particular Diabetes in pregnancy and other endocrine problems of pregnancy.
Member of the scientific committee and regular speaker of the Arab Health Ob. &Gyn. Conference the Maternal track for the last 5 years.
He is a regular speaker in many national and International Conferences in the Gulf countries and the Middle East.
Received several Awards in October 2017 he has been duly awarded Ibn Sina Award from the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists (Gulf Chapter) for his outstanding contribution in the field of diabetes and endocrinology.
Dr. Bashir is the Middle East Representative of the International Society of Obstetric Medicine (ISOM) since November 2003 and member of other national and international societies He is the past president of (SUDA) Sudan Diabetes Association Gulf Chapter.
In March 2010, RCOG – U.K. recognized Obstetric Medicine Unit in Corniche hospital as the 1st and only unit outside U.K. to train obstetricians in Maternal / Obstetric Medicine. (ATSM)
In April 2012 he was awarded the fellowship of the RCOG UK.
For his high level of dedication, achievements in clinical care and support to develop women’s health care services.
