Dr. Gibson is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Calgary. He obtained his medical degree and Internal Medicine residency at the University of Manitoba, followed by Fellowship training in Obstetric & Consultative Medicine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA in 2001. Dr. Gibson founded the Obstetric Internal Medicine program in Calgary, and he is currently the Secretary of the International Society of Obstetric Medicine. He provides inpatient and outpatient consultation for medically-complicated pregnancies in Calgary and participates in the provincial Maternal Mortality Review Committee. His academic interests include medically complicated pregnancies with an emphasis on cardiac disease, thrombosis, hypertension, global health and medical education.
