Short Bio: Michael J. Moritz, M.D.
I am an abdominal transplant surgeon with more than 30 years of experience. I am one of the cofounders and the Principal Investigator of the Transplant Pregnancy Registry International, the worldwide data repository for the experiences of pregnancy after transplantation. The TPRI has published over 100 peer reviewed publications plus many in the lay press, providing reliable, data-driven information to guide transplant recipients and their caregivers in decision-making around the topics of pregnancy and breastfeeding after transplantation. As a surgeon, I’ve initiated and built or rebuilt kidney liver and pancreas transplant programs. I’ve directed the programs at Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania since 2005, more than quadrupling the volume. I have more than 10 years of experience as the Medical Director of , Gift of Life Donor Program, one of the U.S.’ leading organ procurement organizations, which regularly leads the U.S.A. in organ donors and organs transplanted from a population base of only 11 million.
