Dr. Gibson is Professor of Medicine and Obstetrics & Gynecology at the University of Calgary. He completed Internal Medicine training in Winnipeg, Canada followed by a fellowship in Obstetric & Consultative Medicine at Brown University in Providence, Rhode Island, USA. Dr. Gibson founded the Obstetric Internal Medicine program in Calgary, Canada and has been providing inpatient and outpatient consultation for medically complicated pregnancies at Foothills Hospital since 2001. He is the Secretary of the International Society of Obstetric Medicine and Vice Chair, Education for the Department of Medicine at the University of Calgary. His research interests focus on medically complicated pregnancies with an emphasis on cardiac disease, hypertension, thrombosis and medical education.
