Michèle de Hosson obtained her bachelor’s degree in nursing from the Hogeschool van Arnhem en Nijmegen, Netherlands, in 2005 and began her career in the Coronary Care Unit at Ghent University Hospital, Belgium. In 2009, she completed a master’s in nursing science at Utrecht University.
Since 2013, Michèle is working as a Clinical Nurse Specialist for adolescents and adults with congenital heart disease in Ghent University Hospital, coordinating multidisciplinary care and acting as the primary liaison for patients and families. Her work focuses on optimizing lifelong care and supporting patients through critical life stages.
Michèle has led several quality improvement and research initiatives. As Transition Coordinator, she played a central role in developing the Transition with a Heart program, which became the basis of her doctoral research, successfully defended in 2024. She also coordinates the Pregnancy Heart Team, providing guidance to women with cardiac conditions before, during, and after pregnancy.
Michèle contributed as Task Force Coordinator for the 2025 European Society of Cardiology (ESC) Guidelines on Pregnancy and Cardiovascular Disease.
