Dr Florio is a board certified maternal fetal medicine specialist who specializes in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy and heart disease. She is an associate professor and Vice Chair of patient safety and quality for the department of obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Missouri, and is an adjunct associate professor at t.  She has served as the chair of both the Missouri Perinatal Quality Collaborative and the Missouri pregnancy-associated mortality review board. Dr. Florio is currently the co-PI on the national study entitled HOPE which aims to evaluate the outcomes of women affected by heart disease in pregnancy.
