She completed fellowships in clinical pharmacology, obstetric medicine and a research fellowship in heart disease and pregnancy under the mentorship of Prof. Candice Silversides at the University of Toronto. Her expertise also includes hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, chronic kidney disease, obesity in pregnancy, and the prevention of cardiac complications during and after pregnancy.

Dr. Pfaller-Eiwegger’s research focuses on hypertensive disorders of pregnancy, particularly preeclampsia, and the long-term cardiometabolic and renal impacts on women after high-risk pregnancies. In 2021, she launched the PreCareFem project at the University Hospital of St. Pölten to improve postpartum care for women at elevated risk of cardiovascular and kidney disease.
