Dr. Lorna Swan, MB ChB, MD, FRCP (UK) is a Consultant Cardiologist with the Scottish Adult Congenital Cardiac Service (SACCS) and Director of Medical Education at the Golden Jubilee University National Hospital in Glasgow.
In 2020, Dr. Swan joined SACCS after working as a Consultant Cardiologist for 15 years in London and Toronto. She completed her cardiology training and MD thesis in Glasgow, before taking up an Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) consultant position at the Royal Brompton Hospital in 2006, where she served as Program Director for eight years.
In 2018, she moved to the Toronto Adult Congenital Programme, where her clinical and academic remit included ACHD, Cardio-Obstetrics, and Transition. In recent years, her teaching and academic work has focused primarily on ACHD heart failure and Cardio-Obstetrics, and she is a co-author of the 2025 ESC Guidelines. In 2024, Dr. Swan was appointed Director of Medical Education at the Golden Jubilee Hospital.
