Uri Elkayam, MD, is presently Professor of Medicine (Cardiology) and professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and director of maternal at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. In addition, he is the president of the Foundation for Heart Failure Education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Professor Elkayam\u2019s research and clinical interests are in the areas of Cardiac problems in pregnancy, cardiomyopathies, congestive heart failure, valvular heart disease and. He has been involved in more than 100 self-initiated; NIH and industry funded research projects and has served in a leading position in numerous national and international multi-center studies and presently in the steering committee of the REBIRTH study and the HOPE registry. He is the author or co-author on over 250 publications and over 90 book chapters. He is the editor of 4 editions of the textbook \u201cCardiac Problems in Pregnancy \u201cand the co-founder and chairman of the \u201cInternational congress of Cardiac Problems in Pregnancy\u201d and the director of \u201cCardio Obstetrics University\u201d symposium and the Los Angeles heart failure annual symposium .
