Rohan D\u2019Souza<\/span> MD, PhD, FRCOG, FCPS, MSc, DNB, DGO, DFP <\/span>is a Maternal-Fetal Medicine Physician with a clinical focus on medical disorders in pregnancy. He is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact at McMaster University, Canada.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Dr. D\u2019Souza leads the\u202f<\/span>Family-Oriented and service User centred Research Supporting pregnancy Health (FLOURISH) <\/span>group at McMaster University and is a principal investigator on several collaborative initiatives:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

  • The Canadian Obstetric Survey System (CanOSS):<\/span>\u202fA nationwide effort to reduce severe adverse pregnancy outcomes.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
    • The Canadian Network of Networks to Reduce Cardiovascular Mortality and Morbidity in Pregnancy (CaNCaM-Preg):<\/span>\u202fA multidisciplinary collaboration aiming to improve cardiovascular health during and after pregnancy.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
      • Outcome Reporting in Obstetric Studies (OROS):<\/span>\u202fA global initiative focussed on harmonizing outcome reporting and prioritizing patient-important outcomes in clinical decision-making.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
        • The Confidence Project:\u202f<\/span>Enhancing vaccine confidence among pregnant and postpartum individuals.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
          • Improving Peripartum Outcomes Project (ImPrOP):<\/span>\u202fImproving outcomes following labour induction, reducing operative delivery-related morbidity, and preventing severe postpartum haemorrhage.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>
            • Studying the Effect of Environmental influences on Pregnancy Health (SEEP): <\/span>Determining associations between extreme temperature, agrochemicals and e-waste on pregnancy health<\/span>.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ul>

              Dr. D\u2019Souza has received national and international recognition for his contribution to the advancement of women\u2019s health, including a Tier-2 Canada Research Chair.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
